Kyanite is an oxgenated Aluminum Silicate found in various locations worldwide, including the United States, Italy, India, and Africa. It crystalizes in the triclinic system, producing elongated, bladed, often flattened crystals. Its colors include blue, blue-green, green, white, gray, yellow, pink, and near-black. It may be color-zoned in individual crystals. Kyanite has a directional hardness in single crystals, varying fron 4-7.5 Mohs. Kyanite is an "auto-alignment" stone, capable of adjusting all chakras simultaneously. It is, in its blue form, of benefit to the Throat and Third Eye chakras, aiding meditation after these centers are properly opened. Kyanite is also said to boost the immune system, aid in manifesting one's life work on the Earth plane, to aid physical and psychic communication, and to heal blockages and burnouts in all auric bodies, etheric, emotional, mental, and spiritual.
